Former Pro Baseball Player, Coach, Trainer, Pitching Expert, Proprietor of Successful Baseball and Sport Facilities.
Craig Holman loves teaching baseball as much as he loved playing the sport.
Craig started making a name for himself back as a high school baseball and football player at Etowah High School in Attalla, Alabama. There he pitched for his high school baseball team, winning two 5A State Championships and went 24-1 during his high school career.
Craig pitched his college years at Jacksonville State University. He made his mark as one of the most successful pitchers in the history of Jacksonville State baseball. He also helped take the team to four straight World Series appearances from 1988-1991. When Jacksonville State won the Division II National Championships in ’90 and ’91, Craig pitched both championship games to take the title. Craig was an All-American selection as a sophomore and over his four years at Jacksonville State went 32-4 and was inducted into the Hall of Fame Class of 2007.
Drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 1991 Major League Baseball Draft, Craig was also part of the ’95 Reading Phillies Championship Team.
Career Highlights of Craig Holman’s professional baseball career include:
- September 4, 1993: Combined with three other pitchers to throw a no hitter. It was the first time in the 61-year history of the Eastern League that a no hitter was thrown by a quartet of pitchers.
- July 28, 1993: Threw a no hitter for 7 1/3 innings, which ended as a complete game three-hitter. The icing on the cake was Craig’s 6th inning homerun!
